May 2022

Coming up this month…. A concert in Slane, 15 minutes from home which will feel strange for someone who generally tours outside of Ireland.

The Johnston’s Festival, Slane – Sat 21st May in St. Patrick’s Church of Ireland, Slane. Tickets can be obtained in the Tourist Office Slane Phone 041-9824000.

We really enjoyed our trip to the Netherlands – met old friends and new. It was great to be back on stage, although struggling with lyrics was expected! A big Thank you to Koen, Joke, Hanneke and Karin for arranging such wonderful concerts.

Here are some songs from one concert – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EWowdG_AYBs&list=UU_nfzsbWf98Im-alfspKiEg

June will bring us to England – yay.

Spring 2022

Hi all. I’ve been keeping my head down but have had a few nights out in the last month, including our Students’ gig in the Cobblestone pub.

Hoping to get back singing and rehearsing (I’ve been finding it hard to sing to nobody)…. I’ve two little tours coming up April and June and also I have been invited to sing at the annual Johnston’s Festival near where I live in Slane, Co. Meath in May. The Johnston’s were a huge influence on me as a child, and I was honoured to sing with the remaining band in 2011, to celebrate 30 years since lead singer Adrienne Johnston went missing. Details of this year’s festival will be up soon on their facebook page – https://www.facebook.com/johnstonsfolkfest

With Lead singer of the Johnstons, Lucy Johnston 2011

Bandcamp Friday 3rd September 2021

From Bandcamp…….On the first Friday of every month since March of 2020, we’ve waived our revenue share to help support the many artists who have seen their livelihoods disrupted by the pandemic. Over the course of these 14 days, fans paid artists and labels $59 million dollars, helping cover rents, mortgages, groceries, medications, and much more. If you’re among the nearly 800,000 fans who participated, thank you.The next Bandcamp Friday will be on September 3rd, and we’ll continue to hold those on the first Friday of every month thereafter for the rest of 2021.If you’ve started to feel guilty about buying music on any day other than Bandcamp Friday, here’s something to keep in mind: on Bandcamp Fridays, an average of 93% of your money reaches the artist/label (after payment processor fees). When you make a purchase on any other day of the month (as 2.5 million of you have since March, buying an additional $190 million worth of music and merch) an average of 82% reaches the artist/label. Every day is a good day to directly support artists on Bandcamp!
